What is Profit Health.forum:
The problems of the health system in Romania seem to become ever more serious: old hospitals with circuits that do not meet the needs of this millennium, in-hospital infections not yet reported by all hospitals, patients on the edge of a knife, managerial inefficiency, disinterest, fraud, new, false doctors. Above all, the private health system also shows its tares. That’s how we stepped in 2019.
How does the European Commission view the health of Romania in the Country Report:
- Avoidable mortality rate – deaths that could have been avoided by providing optimal healthcare is two and a half times higher in our country than the EU rate
- The provision of essential medical equipment for diagnosis and treatment is very low, especially in hospitals
- Life expectancy in Romania is still below the European Union average (75.3 years compared to 81 years – EU average)
- Avoided mortality rate – deaths that could have been avoided by providing optimal health care – is two and a half times higher in our country than the EU rate
- The shortage of medical staff, associated with massive labor migration, poses problems for the proper functioning of the health system – at least one in five Romanian doctors works outside the country.
The above are just some of the conclusions of the European Commission on Health in Romania, according to the recently published Country Report.
