2020 has been a challenging year for the energy industry, hit, like other economic segments, by the pandemic crisis caused by the coronavirus and the measures to quarantine the population and economy adopted by governments. To the foreseeable difficulties in such a context of health problems, which affected most markets, was added, for the energy industry, the passage of a turbulent period from a legislative point of view. The gas market has been liberalized since 1 July, over which a mandatory bidding program has been superimposed on the centralized markets. Context in which final consumers had to choose between competing offers in the market.
On the electricity side, exceptions have been introduced for the trading of all production in centralized markets, and full market liberalization is being prepared from 1 January. The exploitation of gas in the Black Sea remains unknown, affecting the investment plans of companies in several fields, including that of the transmission operator Transgaz.
In such a context, Profit.ro aims to bring together, at the same virtual table, for a consistent debate on significant issues of the moment, in an online conference, officials and representatives of the authorities responsible in the field, leaders of active companies in energy markets, consultants and specialists.
