Videoconference Profit Health.forum – The health system, between the pandemic and the economic crisis. Where is the patient? IXth Edition
Paradoxically, the costs of global medical systems fell during Covid-19: the redistribution of funds to counteract the pandemic and the reluctance of people to go to the hospital for other diseases meant, when we draw the line, less money spent in hospitals. However, the real costs of this phenomenon will be seen in the coming years, health experts point out. Then all the undiagnosed conditions due to the pandemic will suffocate the medical system. After almost 20 months of pandemic, however, the health system is showing signs of fatigue. In the context of rising utility prices and major staff shortages, the pressure on the system will be greater than ever. What will the authorities do? What is the strategic plan for saving the lives of Romanians in the current pandemic context? Will the chronically ill be allowed to wait for months for hospitalization and the treatment they are entitled to?
